I grew up surrounded by farms, woods, and a slower pace of life. By weaving, drawing, and painting I recapture that timeless space and hope to bring forth that feeling in others.
My art is a way to share my observations of the natural processes and systems found in nature. I love using strong contrast and engaging shape in tapestry, paint, and graphite to capture the eye. I want to share with others the simple pleasure of the turn of a leaf or the velvety texture on a bumblebee.
My studio, Mani e Mente, translates to hands and mind. This phrase encapsulates the connection between idea and creation. The hands will create what the mind imagines.
An alum of The Atelier School of Classical Realism, I continue to work independently and through the botanical art program with the New York Botanical Garden.
